Niclas Fullkrug ready for medical as West Ham receive official written transfer offer – Details here
Niclas Fullkrug is edging closer to a West Ham United exit already ahead of the January transfer window.
Fullkrug’s career at West Ham has looked to be over for some time, with the 32-year-old well down the pecking order under Nuno Espirito Santo.
The German international started the first two games after Nuno replaced Graham Potter at the end of September, but has made just two substitute appearances since then.
However, Fullkrug has now been handed a concrete escape route, which should see him leave the Hammers in the January transfer window.
West Ham closing in on Niclas Fullkrug agreement
Fullkrug has been heavily linked to AC Milan in recent weeks, with the Italian side eager to agree a deal with West Ham for the centre-forward.
Nuno is ready to offload the out-of-favour forward in the January window to allow him to bring a much-needed replacement in.
Now, according to Florian Plettenberg, West Ham have received a written offer from AC Milan for Fullkrug.
Milan want to bring the 32-year-old in on a six-month loan, which would include an option to buy at the end of the season.
The Italian side would cover Fullkrug’s full salary, and the two clubs are now closing in on a final agreement, with the striker said to be ready for his medical.

With Fullkrug set to depart, it leaves Callum Wilson as the only senior striker left at West Ham for the second half of the season.
It’s clearly a position that the East London side needs to strengthen in, and they have already been linked with several options ahead of the January window.
Most recently, West Ham have shown interest in Roma centre-forward Artem Dovbyk, but he is yet another underwhelming option.
Dovbyk has only managed two Serie A goals this season and turns 29 next year, so Hammers fans will be hoping that a more suitable target is found.
Things are starting to move, though.
