Niclas Fullkrug filmed arriving abroad as fee locked in for permanent West Ham exit

Niclas Fullkrug has been filmed landing in Milan ahead of finalising his exit from West Ham United on an initial loan.

Fullkrug has been edging towards a West Ham exit for a number of weeks, having been told he is free to find a new club.

The Germany international has been a major flop at the London Stadium since arriving in a £27million deal from Borussia Dortmund in August 2024.

Fullkrug is to undergo a medical with AC Milan and, all going to plan, will join the Serie A heavyweights until the summer.

However, more details have now emerged on what it will take for Fullkrug to leave West Ham permanently.

West Ham set fee for permanent Niclas Fullkrug sale to AC Milan

It has previously been reported that Fullkrug will be given £54,000 a week by Milan, helping to take the wages off West Ham’s books.

Ideally, though, the Hammers will get rid permanently. While it would be a financial hit given how much they paid for the flop striker, it would at least free up some funds to sign a replacement.

Gianluca Di Marzio uploaded a video on his personal Instagram account on Monday showing Fullkrug arriving in Milan, adding that an option to buy has been set at around £4.4m.

It adds that Fullkrug is “ready to start a new chapter in his career”, with the striker looking all smiles after touching down in Italy.

How much will West Ham lose on Fullkrug?

This has to go down as arguably the worst pound-for-pound signing of the Tim Steidten era at West Ham United.

Should Fullkrug join Milan permanently – and there is no reason why they wouldn’t pay the £4.4m fee – that would be a loss of £22.6m for the Hammers.

If there are any positives from this, it is that David Sullivan and Co. are clearly looking for a replacement ASAP.

Fulham’s Adama Traore is the latest to be linked with West Ham, but he is not an out-and-out goalscorer.

Chris Wood of Nottingham Forest sounds a better choice, but he is another ageing striker that seems to have gone off the boil.

This is a call West Ham chiefs simply cannot get wrong. If they do, relegation will no longer be a possibility but rather a certainty.
