Niclas Fullkrug somehow still remains a West Ham United player.

The German international arrived at the London Stadium two years ago with high hopes behind him.

Instead, what followed was a complete disaster.

Three goals and two assists in 29 appearances led to West Ham being relegated to the Championship.

Nuno Espirito Santo allowed Fullkrug to leave on loan for AC Milan after his arrival, yet we are back to square one at Rush Green.

Now, another escape route has emerged for the striker, who West Ham simply want to let go at all cost.

Who wants Niclas Fullkrug?

West Ham Zone has heavily covered transfer interest in Fullkrug from multiple clubs this summer.

Fiorentina, Venezia and Werder Bremen have all been mentioned as possible destinations.

Now, La Gazzetta Dello Sport has reported in its print edition that Lazio are a new interested side.

The Italian newspaper states on Tuesday that West Ham are happy to let him go out on loan again.

Those at the London Stadium will be hoping that it's finally done sooner rather than later.

Nightmare period for Fullkrug continues

There aren't many players who have had a worse couple of years than Fullkrug as he comes to the end of his career.

Moving to England to fulfil the dream of many in the Premier League, only scoring three goals was pitiful.

Then, it didn't get better in Italy.

Moving to AC Milan, the 33-year-old only scored once in 20 appearances.

These are the signs of a striker who is sadly coming to the end, and despite having some purple patches towards the end, it's crashing down now.

West Ham will want to get rid of those large wages and big fee that Tim Steidten got them into, and thankfully, interest is there.

Loans are becoming more and more difficult in modern day football though, with clubs rarely wanting to pay full wages and hoping to subsidise them with the parent club.

Can West Ham afford to do that with Fullkrug? I guess we'll find out soon.

Lazio are next in line, and it remains to be seen if they can get a deal done when a long list has failed to do so far.
