Niclas Fullkrug is being lined up for a West Ham exit this summer.

The striker was signed by the Hammers in 2024, but has only featured 29 times for the London Stadium side, with just three goals.

He spent the second half of last season on loan with AC Milan, where he scored just one goal in 20 matches.

Despite that dismal form in the country, he is still attracting interest from Italy over a potential transfer.

It's claimed that the Irons man is a strong contender for Venezia's striker vacancy.

However, it is understood that a deal may not be easy for the Italian side, who have just been promoted to Serie A after winning the second tier.

Why a deal for Niclas Fullkrug may prove difficult

Getting Fullkrug out of West Ham is not expected to be simple for the Venice-based outfit.

TuttoMercatoWeb claims that his contract with the E20 side, the personel changes and his hefty salary mean that securing his services will be difficult.

It states that negotiations will be needed to find out whether there is the margins to make a deal happen.

Why West Ham need to get rid of Fullkrug by any means necessary

The Irons need to get Fullkrug off the books, no matter how they manage to do it.

His signing has been an unmitigated disaster for all parties, and Nuno Espirito Santo did not have a reliable presence upfront to save his side from relegation, and the player has lost his place in the Germany team.

He would have been hoping to be a part of their World Cup squad, but he will be watching the tournament from home, instead.

The East London side should accept whatever offer comes their way to get him off the books, even if it involves taking on part of his salary, so that he can be shifted.

He needs to move on for the sake of his career, and the club need to not be stuck paying him until his deal runs out in 2028, especially if they are in the Championship for more than one season.

That would just add another layer to a truly dismal signing, that arrived with so much hope after his exploits in Germany.
