Newcastle United table offer to blow West Ham out of water for Jesse Lingard
West Ham could be blown out of water in their pursuit of Jesse Lingard as Newcastle United have offered a “significantly” better deal to the Manchester United man, according to 90min.
Lingard, 29, is out of contract and is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, after 11 years at the club.
The 32-times England international enjoyed a superb loan spell at the London Stadium in the 2020/21 season, scoring nine goals in 16 games for the Hammers.
However, as per 90min, the deal on offer at St James’ Park is “significantly” better than what he could be offered at the London Stadium.
Lingard’s next club
Lingard has been a target from a number of clubs over the past two windows following his excellent spell at West Ham.

From a playing perspective, a move back to the London Stadium, where he is loved and adored would seem good for both parties.
Yet, West Ham’s reluctance to loosen the shoestrings to sign him last summer and in January display that wages will play a significant part in this deal.
Newcastle were reluctant to do a loan deal in January due to Manchester United’s asking price.
If the Magpies do come back for Lingard in the summer, a move to Tyneside could well materialise.
As mentioned by Ally McCoist on talkSPORT, as quoted by the Chronicle on 26 April, Newcastle are a club on the up and Lingard needs to be playing football now he is nearing the age of 30.
Missing out on Lingard would be a blow for West Ham and perhaps a realisation that despite their positive season, questions will still remain over the ambition of the club’s ownership.
