Nayef Aguerd offers arrive at West Ham United as Kurt Zouma to seal transfer exit

West Ham are considering the sale of Nayef Aguerd with offers now made for him to leave the club, according to the Daily Mail.

The paper’s website reported in the early hours of 27 August that the Moroccan defender is now the subject of bids for him to follow Kurt Zouma out from the London Stadium, with the Frenchman expected to seal a departure to Al Orobah in Saudi Arabia.

Aguerd has turned down a loan-to-buy switch to Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga [Santi Aouna, 26 August], but is also wanted in the Saudi Pro League by Al-Ittihad [Dharmesh Sheth, 26 August].

His £90,000-a-week wages have reportedly complicated the sale process [Jacob Steinberg, 26 August].

Tim Steidten set to offload two West Ham defenders

Both Zouma and Aguerd are big earners at the London Stadium and that appears to have made it tricky to move them on after the arrivals of Max Kilman and Jean-Clair Todibo.

Zouma’s injury situation has also been an issue after he failed a medical ahead of a move to the UAE with Shabab Al-Ahli [The Times, 12 August].

The club were said to be considering negotiating with him on a pay off in order to terminate the final year of his contract so it has to be a positive that he looks set to secure a move without resorting to that.

West Ham
West Ham are set to say goodbye to Kurt Zouma.

It is unlikely that West Ham would have been able to investigated the same with Aguerd given he has three years remaining on the deal he signed after arriving from Rennes two years ago [Sky Sports].

But with space needed in order to complete late Steidten moves in at the London Stadium before the deadline, including Carlos Soler from PSG [The Times, 26 August], it is more positive progress that clubs are now making offers for Aguerd.
