Nathan Trott reveals West Ham United dream amid permanent transfer speculation

Nathan Trott has admitted it’s his dream to play for West Ham when asked about a permanent move to his current loan club Vejle in Denmark.

Trott has been a West Ham player since he was a child and now, at 24, he has claimed his goal has always been to be the first-choice goalkeeper at the London Stadium.

He went on to admit he is just focused on the current season as things stand, but anything could happen when the summer transfer window comes around.

Speaking to Danish outlet Bold, Trott shared: “The season is still young, and a lot can happen this summer. I’m just trying to focus on Vejle and I’m very happy here. I enjoy playing football here and I enjoy the time with my teammates and the coaches.

“It has always been my goal to play for West Ham. I’ve been playing there since I was a kid. So that’s my dream, but I don’t know what might happen this summer. So I just have to focus on Vejle, and that’s what I’m doing.”

Chances of a Hammers return are slim

It’s a sign of his own determination and high aspirations that Trott has set himself the goal of becoming the number one at the East London club, but given the form of Alphonse Areola, and the level the 24-year-old is currently playing at, that dream seems unlikely.

His loan club Vejle seem to think very highly of him, made clear by the news outlet directly asking whether he will continue with the club beyond the end of his loan move in the coming summer, and we are only in November.

Trott’s admission that he is very happy where is currently is could be a sign that a permanent move may be on the cards when that time rolls around, but as the goalkeeper said, anything could happen in the transfer window with regard to his long-term future.

Despite playing just 7 senior minutes for the Hammers, Trott has set his ambitions high, and whether or not he has a future at the London Stadium, he will certainly have a solid professional career wherever he ends up.

In other West Ham news, Alex Crook has shared an “imminent” update on David Moyes’ future.
