Napoli interested in signing West Ham United star Nayef Aguerd, asking price issue emerges
Napoli have shown an interest in signing West Ham defender Nayef Aguerd this summer, according to Corriere dello Sport.
The Italian newspaper reported that the Moroccan centre-back has been listed as a potential option for the Serie A champions as they look to replace Kim Min-jae after he left to join Bayern Munich.
But it said the costs associated to sign the 27-year-old would be “high” and that another issue is the club are reluctant to sign a player that would be heading off to the African Cup of Nations next January.

No chance
There is surely no chance that West Ham are even going to consider allowing Aguerd to leave the club after he impressed in his first season at the London Stadium.
The Hammers paid a reported £30million to sign him from Rennes last summer and they would surely be looking for a lot more than that to let him go.
Although he missed the majority of the first part of last season, the Moroccan played a pivotal role in helping the club fight off relegation and win the Europa Conference League, making 30 appearances and scoring two goals.

The centre-back is just coming into his prime years and has been a big favourite amongst the fans, so it would be foolish to let him go as the club looks to continuing progressing.
He will be looking to build upon a strong end to last season and will be one of the players David Moyes will be hoping will step forward into a leadership role after Declan Rice left for Arsenal.
In other West Ham news, the club have shown an interest in signing a Japanese international.
