Napoli consider move for Tomas Soucek as West Ham United open to summer sale

Napoli are considering making a move for Tomas Soucek, with West Ham open to his exit this summer according to ExWHUemployee.

The Czech midfielder is entering the final 12 months of his contract at the London Stadium, but remains in the plans of David Moyes heading into the 2023/24 season.

But while writing on his Patreon, Ex revealed that the club are open to letting him leave if the right offer comes in with the current Serie A champions Napoli interested.

“The other midfield situation to monitor is Tomas Soucek‘s,” he wrote (29 June).

“He hasnt got a new contract offer yet which has alerted other clubs, the club are not looking to sell but should an offer come in they would consider it and Soucek may wish to talk to other clubs.

“Whilst no club has put an enquiry in the likes of Napoli apparently thinking about a move.”

Rebuild

Declan Rice is on his way out of the club with Arsenal paying £105m, so replacements and reinforcements are needed, but that could be the tip of the iceberg now.

Lucas Paqueta has been tipped to leave the club as he is reportedly unhappy with David Moyes’ style of football, with PSG lurking and now Soucek could be on his way out too.

Couple all of that with the fact Flynn Downes could look to leave for more regular football too, and West Ham may need to find an entirely new midfield before the new season starts.

The summer transfer window is likely to be busy yet again for West Ham after eight signings last year plus another January deal for Danny Ings, and Moyes is going to have plenty of decisions to make.

Fans have long grown annoyed by the performances of Soucek and with a year left on his deal, it may be the perfect time to cash in and replace him.
