Mohammed Kudus sources share new West Ham United transfer update

Mohammed Kudus is focused on doing well for West Ham United next season, sources close to him have told The Athletic.

The online outlet added on 28 June that the former Ajax man is now a £100m player should any teams wish to sign him this summer.

The report also outlines that a fresh update from Julen Lopetegui would reduce some of the stress around the future of their star man for fans.

Why West Ham need to keep Mohammed Kudus within their ranks

Without Jarrod Bowen and Kudus last season, there’s not much of a chance that the Hammers would have ended in the top half of the Premier League table.

Between the two of them last term, they managed to contribute to a total of 50 goals.

34 of which the duo scored themselves, which altogether adds up to over a third of the goals that the Hammers scored across the entirety of the campaign.

West Ham Mohammed Kudus-2
Mohammed Kudus has been a revelation since joining West Ham United from Ajax just last summer

This form sparked the interest of clubs across the world with the Saudi Pro League registering interest in Kudus [GiveMeSport, 21 June] whilst Premier League side Tottenham have most recently been linked with a move for Bowen [Sebastien Vidal, 25 June].

However, following the addition of Lopetegui as manager of the Hammers, it’s evident that the London-based club are wanting to build on their ninth-placed finish from last season.

Only time will tell if this happens, but one thing is for sure, West Ham would be far better off with Kudus than without.

In other West Ham news, the Hammers are still lurking around the transfer of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
