Milenkovic to jet in for West Ham medical once major hurdle is cleared

Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic will jet into the UK to undergo a medical with West Ham once things are cleared up with various agents, according to ExWHUemployee.

The reliable Hammers insider has reported on his Patreon page that there are multiple agents involved in the deal due to Milenkovic’s contract at Fiorentina expiring at the end of next season.

It is understood that these agents want as big a slice of the pie as possible and that is currently holding up West Ham’s swoop to sign the 23-year-old Serbia international.

However, ExWHUemployee reports that once that hurdle is cleared, the Irons will get Milenkovic to fly into England to undergo a medical and put the finishing touches to his move to the club.

It’s happening (we hope)

Don’t get too excited yet, Hammers fans. But it does seem as though we’re finally closing in on our first outfield signing of the summer.

Alphonse Areola is the only new player to join David Moyes’ first-team squad this summer but it seems that Milenkovic will be addition number two once this issue with the agents is sorted out.

Agents are really annoying but as the Irons may be getting Milenkovic on the cheap due to his contract situation, it leads to people demanding more money because they know they are moving for a discounted fee.

We’d expect Milenkovic to be viewed as a starter by Moyes due to his experience in Serie A – he’s played 121 times in Italy’s top-flight for Fiorentina – and because this is signing that has been in the works for a while.

It would be very disappointing if Milenkovic was viewed as someone to add strength in depth but as Craig Dawson and Angelo Ogbonna are both ageing, he’s definitely one for the now and for the future.

In other West Ham news, this player is now an option for the Irons after he quit a London club last week.
