Medical scheduled as Fabrizio Romano shares West Ham United-Luis Guilherme update
The medical has been scheduled for next week as West Ham are set to secure the services of Palmeiras forward Luis Guilherme, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Sky Sports journalist wrote on 7 June that a verbal agreement has been reached with the Brazilian club for the 18-year-old striker.
It’s understood that the youngster will jet into England to complete the next steps of the deal which will be worth a total of £25.4million.
Via Twitter, Romano wrote: “West Ham verbally agree deal to sign Brazilian talent Luis Guilherme!
“Agreement done with Palmeiras pending medicals to take place in England next week.
“€23m fixed fee, €7m add-ons, 20% sell-on clause to Palmeiras.
“Final steps then… here we go, soon.”
West Ham begin to make transfer moves in the Julen Lopetegui era
The signing of Guilherme is a significant move for the Hammers, marking their first major acquisition under the management of Julen Lopetegui.
Guilherme, an 18-year-old Brazilian forward from Palmeiras, brings youthful energy and potential to the team.
This move demonstrates the club’s commitment to building a competitive squad for the future under their new manager.
Furthermore, securing Guilherme ahead of other Premier League clubs and agreeing to a deal that includes a sell-on clause indicates strategic planning in player recruitment and development.
This approach could potentially benefit the club financially in the long term.
The addition of Guilherme also adds depth to West Ham’s attacking options, enhancing their competitiveness in both domestic and international competitions.
