Manchester United respond to bids for West Ham United target Scott McTominay
Manchester United have rejected early bids for West Ham-linked Scott McTominay, according to Manchester Evening News.
The news outlet reported on 15 July that the Scotland international was receptive to moving to the London Stadium last summer but the club rejected the Hammers’ offer.
Manchester United have not ruled out selling the 27-year-old or any of their senior academy graduates this summer.
West Ham may attempt to sign Scott McTominay again this summer
The Hammers may attempt to sign McTominay again this summer due to their previous interest in the midfielder and their need to strengthen their squad.
The Scotland international has been linked with a move away from the billionaire-owned Manchester United and the Irons could provide him with the opportunity to play more regularly.
They need midfield reinforcements with Kalvin Phillips and Flynn Downes leaving, Edson Alvarez being linked with an exit, and McTominay has shown that he is good enough to play at a high level.
He could add work rate and defensive cover to the midfield and he is also understood to be open to leaving Manchester United in search of more playing time.
While it’s not a name that would excite fans, he’s a tried and tested option who will be viewed as a safe signing made by the club.

It remains to be seen whether or not the Hammers end up rekindling their interest in the player.
In other West Ham news, the Hammers may vary their training routines as they have made an approach to sign a £70m-rated player this summer.
