Man City tell West Ham what it will take to sign James McAtee with benchmark set
James McAtee has been on West Ham’s radar all summer.
With Mohammed Kudus moving to Tottenham, Graham Potter is desperate for a replacement.
Therefore, multiple attackers have been linked, including Manchester City’s McAtee.
The 22-year-old has come through the Manchester side’s academy and made 27 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals.
Interest is high in the winger, with West Ham in a race to secure his signature.

Man City want £35m for James McAtee
McAtee has been linked with West Ham for months after showcasing great ability at such a young age.
This interest has continued into the summer transfer window, with reports claiming that Potter had made an approach to sign McAtee.
Now, according to The Telegraph (20 July), Man City are set to demand £35 million for the winger this summer.
This is due to the Citizens using their £42.5m sale of Cole Palmer to Chelsea in 2023 as a benchmark.
Nevertheless, West Ham, alongside Nottingham Forest, are believed to be pushing for the winger.
On top of this, Borussia Dortmund and Eintracht Frankfurt also remain in the race, with McAtee recently spending time in Germany to meet the two clubs.

McAtee could prove to be astute business from West Ham
If West Ham can get the transfer of McAtee over the line, it would be an astute bit of business.
While the price may seem high for the 22-year-old, the winger has shown that he has excellent potential and could become a top player.

On top of this, his experience at a top club like Man City is a welcome bonus and will help add a competitive edge to the dressing room at the London Stadium.
Hopefully, Potter will now look to make a bid for McAtee and seal the transfer before any other clubs swoop in.
