Luis Guilherme to jet in for West Ham United medical, update on goodbyes

Luis Guilherme is set to jet into London from Brazil on Saturday 8 June for a medical ahead of a proposed move from Palmeiras to West Ham, according to Nosso Palestra.

It is reported that “if everything goes to plan”, the player is finally expected to sign for the Hammers after weeks of the saga dragging on.

Should that occur, it would make the Brazilian West Ham’s first signing of the summer transfer window.

Who is potential West Ham United signing Luis Guilherme?

Guilherme, 18, is a left-footed right winger – though the teenager has been used on the left, upfront or as an attacking midfielder as well.

The Brazilian has already made 45 senior appearances in all competitions for Palmeiras despite his tender years – although the vast majority of those have been as a substitute, playing a total of 1,370 minutes.

He scored his first senior goal for the club in the 3-2 Copa Libertadores win over Independiente on 25 April, netting a dramatic winner in the fifth minute of stoppage time as Palmeiras fought back from 2-0 down.

He is excellent at drawing fouls, winning 4.13 per 90 in the Copa Libertadores this year [FotMob].

Guilherme has the raw tools to excite Hammers fans if he moves to the Premier League – but he is a young, raw talent and will almost certainly take time to bed in.
