Lucas Paqueta wants to leave West Ham United as ‘perfect’ transfer update emerges
Pep Guardiola and Manchester City are still interested in signing Lucas Paqueta with the player keen on a move away from West Ham United in the summer window, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing in his Daily Briefing (19 May), the transfer specialist has suggested a move for the Brazilian is a “story to watch” this summer.
Man City will remain to see the result of potential issues with “betting stuff” but he still remains high on their list for potential signings.
Paqueta himself is keen on a move with him considered a “perfect player” for Guardiola’s side moving forward.
Can West Ham United afford to let Lucas Paqueta go?
The Brazilian has become one of the Hammers’ most important players since his move from Lyon two years ago.
He has gone on to make 83 appearances at the London Stadium which saw him win a Europa Conference League in his first season.
This campaign he has scored four and assisted six in the Premier League [FotMob] and has formed a great trio with Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen.
His ability on the ball while having the mindset to track back and contribute defensively is what makes him the player he is.
Add to this his versatility, which David Moyes has made the most of this campaign, and he proves himself as a very useful player.

With the manager situation at the London Stadium unclear, Paqueta may look for a move away like his manager.
Manchester City would be a great prospect for the Brazilian when it comes to winning trophies and playing under Guardiola.
West Ham will be desperate not to let him go given his ability and importance in the Hammers’ squad.
In other West Ham news, Frank McAvennie has called on the club to bring in defensive reinforcements.
