Kurt Zouma starts following West Ham on Instagram

Kurt Zouma has started following West Ham on his official Instagram profile as his move from Chelsea draws ever closer.

David Moyes confirmed earlier on Saturday that a deal for the 26-year-old France international was getting nearer.

It looks all but certain now with Zouma adding West Ham to his latest following list of 167.

Done and dusted?

West Ham fans won’t be counting their chickens until a formal announcement is made and there is a photo of Zouma in an Irons jersey of some description.

They’ve been here too many times to believe a deal will definitely be confirmed.

It has been a turbulent transfer window for the club and its supporters with only goalkeeper Alphonse Areola coming in on a loan deal so far.

A move for Nikola Milenkovic failed to materialise despite that also looking likely while there have already been numerous obstacles in the move to sign Zouma.

But surely nothing can stop this deal from happening now.

The need for a central defender was laid bare on Saturday after the Irons twice gave up the lead to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace at the London Stadium.

There was some clumsy defending with Craig Dawson particularly culpable.

Supporters have started to share concerns over his performances, and today’s displays will only exacerbate the feeling that he needs heavy competition.

It’s only a follow on social media, but it’s the heaviest hint yet that Zouma is on his way to the London Stadium.

In other West Ham news, Wayne Rooney wants to sign this player as he plots Irons exit.
