Kurt Zouma exit update as West Ham United ready to accept free transfer – ExWHUemployee

West Ham United are prepared to let Kurt Zouma exit on a free transfer and appear to have found a suitor to cover his wages, according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers source reported via The West Ham Way website (6 August) that the French defender has been told his contract will not be renewed at the London Stadium as he enters the final year of his deal.

A club in the Saudi Pro League are understood to be ready to pay the entirety of the centre-back’s wages and the Irons are ready to accept at most a nominal fee for his signature.

This is yet unnamed club in the Middle East are also expected to offer Zouma a longer-term contract, meaning the summer transfer will suit all parties involved in the deal equally.

Will Kurt Zouma exit West Ham amid Saudi Pro League transfer rumours?

Zouma was never going to command a major transfer fee this summer and therefore the most important thing for the Hammers will be getting his wages off of the books rather than holding out for a major offer.

With Max Kilman through the door and further defenders targeted ahead of the end of the transfer window, the Frenchman doesn’t seem to fit into Julen Lopetegui’s plans and it seems as though he’s been told exactly that.

Hopefully, any deal to see the former Chelsea man exit the London Stadium can be done sooner rather than later so that Lopetegui and Tim Steidten have plenty of time to turn their attention to new targets before the end of August.

With little money expected to be involved in the deal, it shouldn’t be too difficult to get over the line, especially if Zouma is open to making the switch to the Middle East.

If this is the end of the road for the current Hammers skipper, he has been an excellent servant in his time as a West Ham man, even if his journey has well and truly run its course.
