Kante to sign long-term contract at West Ham United ahead of brand new transfer

Paris FC midfielder Mohamadou Kante is having a medical ahead of a move to West Ham United, according to The Athletic.

It has been reported on 20 August that the 18-year-old is on the cusp of signing a five-year contract at the London Stadium.

As part of the move, Kante would immediately be loaned back to Paris FC and is a highly-rated prospect considered as one for the future in east London.

West Ham United to sign Kante

If the young Paris FC midfielder can develop into anything like his namesake, Ngolo, then West Ham will have a frightening young talent on their hands.

With a five-year contract to be signed, it is clear that Tim Steidten and the club clearly trust that he is on the right path to stardom in the Premier League.

It has been suggested that he would join the under-21s squad [ExWHUemployee], but a loan back to Paris FC for him to continue gaining senior experience could be best for all parties.

David Sullivan and the board have backed Steidten and Julen Lopetegui with some big-money signings already, but it is good to see them support the future too.

Kante will not likely emerge into the first-team for a couple of years yet, but having that long-term contract and security will give him every chance to do that.

This is certainly a new Kante to keep an eye on in the Premier League very shortly.
