Juventus want to sign Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham United if they miss out on Champions League football and sell Dusan Vlahovic

Juventus want to sign Gianluca Scamacca from West Ham this summer if they fail to get Champions League football and sell Dusan Vlahovic, according to Calciomercato.

The Serie A giants are on the verge of missing out being among the European elite next season following their 15-point deduction, leaving them seven points adrift of fourth place with 11 games to go.

But should they miss out, then they’re likely to lose striker Vlahovic who is attracting interest from all over Europe and that could see them make a move for Scamacca following a lacklustre season in England.

“Juventus studies a plan B on the market. Without the Champions League and in the event of the transfer of Dusan Vlahovic, keep an eye on Gianluca Scamacca,” they wrote (22 March).

Smoke and fire

The situation involving Scamacca at the moment is growing a bit tiresome, but there is clearly no smoke without fire.

David Moyes has called him out publicly, and his form hasn’t been great, while he has also switched agents in recent weeks and been linked with a move back to Italy for months.

But there are also sounds that he is happy at the London Stadium and not looking for a move away. Nobody seems to know the truth, but the speculation isn’t going to disappear any time soon – especially as we’re battling for our place in the top flight.

Juventus is the pinnacle for a lot of Italian players and Scamacca is likely to be interested in that move, taking him back home but also giving him continental football.

But West Ham must ensure that if a transfer does happen then it has to be on our terms and must suit us more than anyone, having invested a lot into his signing just a year ago.
