Julian Naglesmann in talks with Niclas Fullkrug over West Ham United transfer

Germany manager Julian Naglesmann has “advised” Niclas Fullkrug to make the move to West Ham United, according to Sky Germany.

The outlet reported on 1 August that both Sandro Wagner and Benjamin Gluck have also advised the striker to take up the opportunity to get more game time.

The Hammers have made an initial bid worth over £21million [Florian Plettenberg, 1 August] for the 31-year-old to pry him away from Borussia Dortmund.

Niclas Fullkrug to join West Ham United

This transfer window has been one of the busiest for West Ham in recent memory. The club even made their first transfer before the window had even opened.

The Hammers needed reinforcement. Despite both Mohammed Kudus and Jarrod Bowen performing out of this world last term, Michail Antonio and Danny Ings failed to play to the same standard.

A lot of the Hammers’ attacks were because of the wingers and had nothing to do with either of the club’s number nines.

Admittedly, there were a fair few injuries between the duo across the season but it’s still no excuse.

West Ham has also offered Fullkrug a “lucrative” three-year deal [Patrick Berger, 1 August] to make the move to England.

This would be an excellent chance for the German to showcase his talents and perhaps even make a run to start in Germany’s first team in the 2026 World Cup.

His playstyle would also align perfectly with that of Julen Lopetegui’s wingers and would no doubt help the club reach their European goals.
