Jim White and Trevor Sinclair react to West Ham-Divock Origi transfer report
Jim White and Trevor Sinclair have offered their instant reaction to the news that West Ham may move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
Journalist Alex Crook told talkSPORT [11/08/21] about the Irons’ interest in the 26-year-old Belgian live on-air on Wednesday afternoon.
He said: “The other name to look out for is Divock Origi at Liverpool, he’s on the books of agent Will Salthouse who, as I’m sure you know, is very close to the West Ham hierarchy and they do need a striker, so keep tabs on that one over the coming weeks.”

White exclaimed: “Origi? Okay.”
Hammers hero Sinclair added: “I’d like to see Origi, he’s been a bit-part player for Liverpool so he’s nice and fresh. I think he could come in and do a job, we definitely need a centre-forward.”

Take what we can get
Origi is not a blockbuster signing that is going to blow West Ham fans away if he moves to the London Stadium, but he is a proven Premier League player who has earned the trust of Jurgen Klopp.
His recent record is not great but that owes to the bit-part role he plays at Anfield behind the superstar talents of Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
However, it was only two years ago he was netting a brace against Barcelona before scoring the goal that clinched the Champions League trophy in the final against Tottenham Hotspur.
Of course, we’d like someone who is maybe a few years younger and is more potent in front of goal.
But we can’t afford to be fussy at this late stage of the transfer window, and would welcome someone with his physical qualities that can prove a nuisance in the box as well as running the channels.
In other West Ham news, the Irons want to sign this ‘Brilliant’ young attacker who shone on Sky Sports last weekend.
