Jhon Duran determined to make West Ham United transfer as source shares new information

Aston Villa ace Jhon Duran is determined he will not be priced out of a Villa Park exit this summer amid recent transfer interest from West Ham United, according to GiveMeSport.

The online outlet reported on 21 July that after not getting enough playtime under Unai Emery during 2023/24, the Colombia international striker is keen on a move to the Hammers for more first-team football.

GiveMeSport’s report also outlined how a source revealed that Duran could even become more eager to move should a further proposal from West Ham be rebuffed.

West Ham United should sign Jhon Duran this summer

It’s evident that West Ham are in need of attacking reinforcement this summer, particularly a central striker.

Between both Danny Ings and Michail Antonio last season, the pair failed to get into double figures for goals although the former was used sparingly and the latter did had injury issues.

Indeed, Antonio’s injuries and Ings’ lack of starts need to be taken into account but to have fewer than 10 goals scored by your strikers in a season is just not ideal for a club trying to break into the upper echelons of the league.

The vast majority of transfer rumours surrounding arrivals to the London Stadium this summer have been in the attacking department.

Both Duran and Matias Soule are players who have been consistently linked [La Gazzetta dello Sport, 17 July, back page] with a move to Julen Lopetegui’s side which makes it clear that the Spaniard also wants some versatility in his attack.

The Hammers’ interest in the Colombia international has been long standing and it now seems that the 20-year-old is well in favour of a move to the captial.
