Jesse Lingard to make decision in next 72 hours on West Ham United offer
Jesse Lingard is set to make a decision on his future in the next 72 hours after West Ham fell behind Nottingham Forest in the race for his signature.
That’s according to The Telegraph [July 19], who say the newly promoted side have moved to gazump the other interested parties and have offered the 29-year-old a deal worth close to his £180,000 per-week demands.
West Ham had believed they were close to agreeing a deal, with ExWHUemployee reporting that one source had told him a deal was “all but agreed” [July 18].

Lingard wants to make a decision before the weekend and has offers from Everton, MLS clubs and a club in Saudi Arabia as well as West Ham and Nottingham Forest.
Forest are hopeful of agreeing the statement deal, which would leave the Hammers without one of their top targets for the summer window.
Crazy
It’s clear as day now that Lingard doesn’t care where he’s playing his football, he just wants the biggest pay packet.
We can offer him European football, a regular starting place to try and get back into the England squad and a familiar environment as well as a decent wage package, but instead he’s choosing a newly promoted side who can only offer him more cash.

This is a saga that has dragged on far too long, with the season set to start in a little over two weeks and the player still stringing clubs along ahead of making a final decision.
Pre-season is well underway and while he’s been posting his cryptic messages and workout videos on Instagram, he’s missing out on key time with his new teammates whoever they are.
The Hammers should have moved on a while ago, but thankfully they’ve been in the market for new targets simultaneously but now they can look to make progress on them.
