Jesse Lingard likely to stay at Manchester United despite West Ham interest
Jesse Lingard’s “most likely destination” this summer is to stay at Manchester United despite interest from West Ham, according to ExWHUemployee.
Writing on his Patreon account, the reliable Hammers insider reported that Lingard, 28, has held talks with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Man United may be set to offer the England international a new contract.
It comes as a massive blow to West Ham, who were intent on re-signing Lingard after a successful loan spell at the London Stadium this season.

“So I have spent the day trying to find out the situation with Jesse Lingard,” ExWHUemployee wrote on Patreon.
“Whilst this story could drag on for most of the summer at this point it appears that whilst we have interest it will be hard for us to convince Manchester United to sell him and that they could be preparing a new contract for him.
“Ole has spoken to the player and has said he is prepared to give him a chance to prove himself, which Lingard is set to be keen on. His heart has always been torn but following discussions, it does appear that Ole is prepared to give him another chance to prove himself.
“There are a number of clubs circulating as well but it seems at the moment that his most likely destination is to remain at the club.”

Shattering blow
Ex’s update doesn’t mean that we have no chance of signing Lingard but it does appear as though the odds are massively stacked against us now.
All sorts of reports have floated around about Lingard in recent weeks with Claret & Hugh recently rubbishing a claim by The Sun that the England international is set to stay in Manchester.
But we all know that Ex is perhaps the most trusted source of them all when it comes to West Ham and his news comes as a body blow to us and for David Moyes.
While we can sit here and point the finger at GSB for not throwing enough money at Man United to sign Lingard, the ultimate decision is down to the player himself.
Solskjaer must be trying to convince him that he’s part of his plans going forward after proving himself at the London Stadium but we really think Lingard needs to consider things a bit better.
Man United were ready to discard him – they had given up on him.
We never did and we gave him the opportunity to shine and revive what was a stalling career.
If he doesn’t join us this summer then we have to accept that’s down to him and if that turns out to a mistake, we won’t feel much sympathy.
In other West Ham news, the Irons are considering re-hiring this man.
