Jean-Clair Todibo personal terms agreed with Juventus after West Ham United transfer bid accepted
Jean-Clair Todibo has agreed personal terms with Juventus despite West Ham having a bid accepted by Nice, according to RMC Sport.
Writing on his personal X account (19 July), journalist Fabrice Hawkins reports that the French defender has agreed a five-year deal with the Serie A giants as he prefers a move to Turin over east London.
However it’s the Hammers who have agreed a deal with OGC Nice [Santi Aouna, 17 July], with a season-long loan with an obligation to buy for around £32million. West Ham though, have not agreed terms with the player as he waits for Juventus to make an offer, but they must sell before they can buy.
West Ham United chase for Todibo not dead yet
After completing a £40million deal for Max Kilman earlier in the transfer window, there was a belief that any deal for Todibo could be dead.
But then a deal got agreed and hope grew again, although the player’s stance on a move has been clear from the get-go – he wants Juventus.
However, until Juventus can get the funds together to agree a deal there is no chance that deal happens and it means that West Ham interest doesn’t need to die.
Todibo would be a huge upgrade in defence this season and with the futures of Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd [Hakim Zhouri, 11 May] up in the air, he may be a necessary signing too.
The club should stay patient but keep their options open too in case the deal does die. There’s a good chance Todibo rocks up at the London Stadium next season, unless Juventus get their act together.
In other West Ham news, the club are closing in on a double transfer swoop for Premier League stars.
