Jean Clair-Todibo could make transfer decision in hours as West Ham United battle Juventus

West Ham United target Jean Clair-Todibo could make a decision on his future very soon with the next few hours expected to be decisive, according to AS.

The Spanish publication reported on its website on Wednesday (July 17) that the Hammers will have to battle Juventus for the Nice centre-back’s signature.

Despite West Ham bidding the most for Todibo, the 24-year-old is keen to play under Thiago Motta in Turin.

With the two clubs battling, AS said the next few hours are expected to be decisive when it comes to Todibo’s future.

West Ham are in a tough spot as they try to sign Todibo. The 24-year-old defender is high on their list, but they’re not the only ones chasing him.

According to reports, Juventus are also keen on bringing Todibo to Turin [Football Italia, July 17], and the player himself seems to favour this move over make a switch to the London Stadium.

Despite the Hammers offering the highest bid so far, Todibo is attracted to the idea of playing under Motta at Juventus.

Both clubs are fighting hard, and West Ham’s recently agreed deal with Nice [BBC, July 17], which includes a loan and an option to buy for about £27million, might not be enough.

Juventus identified Todibo as an exciting option and quickly found an agreement in principle with the defender, who has signed off on a multi-year contract worth £1.7million net per season plus add-ons linked to his performances [Football Italia, July 17].

This means it’s still all up in the air with Todibo having the final say.
