Ian Abrahams shares West Ham stance on move for Norwich City defender Max Aarons

Norwich City right-back Max Aarons is set for a move to the Premier League this summer, with West Ham watching on according to talkSPORT journalist Ian ‘Moose’ Abrahams.

Moose shared via his personal Twitter account on Thursday 20 July that the 23-year-old will get his top-flight move this summer, although West Ham will focus on finding reinforcements to replace Declan Rice before strengthening the rest of their squad.

The Hammers had been linked to Aarons by talkSPORT on 30 June, and it appears their interest in bringing him to the club remains strong. It was shared in the Daily Mail [19 July] that West Ham would be targeting younger full-backs, and Aarons fits that mould.

A brilliant option

Max Aarons has been highly regarded in football for a while now. He burst onto the scene with Norwich in their 2019/20 Premier League campaign and has since attracted interest from a number of top clubs.

Most notably, Aarons was linked with a move to Bayern Munich by Sky Sports in 2021, while he has also been courted by Arsenal and Manchester United according to The Sun in 2022.

Three years on from his breakout season with Norwich, Aarons finally looks set to make a move away from Carrow Road, with West Ham the most likely side to give him his exit route.

West Ham United

Aarons recently starred in England’s U21s European Championship win, where he started the final as a left-back and made four appearances from the six games en route to the win over Spain, in which his side didn’t concede a single goal.

If the 23-year-old defender can replicate the form that saw him linked with some of Europe’s top clubs, and continue to impress at all levels of his game, then West Ham will have managed a real coup by signing him.

In other West Ham news, the club may already have found its next superstar in the form of an academy graduate.
