Guido Rodriguez wants to leave West Ham now, offers already on table

Guido Rodriguez continues to be linked with a move away from West Ham ahead of the summer.

The World Cup winner has had a terrible spell since joining the Hammers on a free transfer from Real Betis in the summer.

This has seen him be used very sparingly by Graham Potter as the Englishman looks to utilise a more dynamic midfield set-up in East London.

As a result, an exit for the 31-year-old appears to make sense as Rodriguez looks to force a departure from the London Stadium as offers begin to come in.

Rodriguez receives offers for West Ham exit

The Argentina international just hasn’t worked as a signing for the Irons and has failed to acclimatise to Premier League football thus far.

This has seen him make just 21 Premier League appearances in claret and blue, playing just 65 minutes of football since the start of February.

The likes of James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek have been utilised ahead of the experienced midfielder, who is clearly growing in frustration.

With that in mind, it would make perfect sense for all parties to allow the Argentine to move on when the summer window opens.

This has seen River Plate emerge as a potential destination for Rodriguez, with El Millonario linked with making a comeback, according to Soy del Millo (13 May).

The Hammers are said to be drawing up plans to let the midfielder go, with offers already on the table from CF America and Real Betis ahead of the summer.

It appears that the 31-year-old would welcome a homecoming to River Plate and is keen on making a move away from E20.

West Ham must greenlight Rodriguez exit

The Irons managed to bring the two-time Copa America winner in on a free transfer in the summer, in what appeared to be a smart piece of business.

Although things haven’t worked out for the Argentine in the capital, it does seem as if the Hammers could get something positive out of a negative deal.

This could be the case if the London Stadium outfit can secure any sort of fee for the midfielder to put towards new signings in the summer.

With the likes of Danny Ings, Aaron Cresswell, and Vladimir Coufal set to leave at the end of their contract, replacements will be needed.

The funds coming in from the sales of out-of-favour players like Rodriguez could prove to be the perfect situation for all parties.
