Guido Rodriguez pushes for West Ham exit after what Graham Potter has done

Guido Rodriguez appears to be done with West Ham and is pushing for an exit ahead of the summer.

The Argentina international was one of nine summer signings at the London Stadium, but he has failed to impose himself on the side.

This has seen the 31-year-old play an increasingly sparing role in East London as a difficult season has continued in the Premier League.

With that being said, it appears that Rodriguez is done with Graham Potter and wants to force a move away from E20 in the upcoming window.

Rodriguez wants West Ham summer exit

There were hopes when signing a World Cup winner that the Irons could be propelled up the league table with Julen Lopetegui at the helm.

Instead, the defensive midfielder has proven to be another failed signing from the Spanish head coach and Tim Steidten in the most recent summer window.

This has seen the Argentine make just 21 Premier League appearances for the Hammers, making just one start since mid-January.

This has coincided with the appointment of Potter, who has handed the two-time Copa America winner just 66 minutes of action in all competitions.

As a result, it is little surprise that Rodriguez is growing frustrated and wants to leave the London Stadium once the window opens.

Sebastien Vidal reported on 13 May that after being used sparingly by the English head coach, the midfielder is pushing for a departure.

This has been met with offers from former clubs River Plate, CF America and Real Betis, who are all keen on a reunion with the 31-year-old in the summer.

Potter causes Rodriguez sale at West Ham

It has never felt as if the former Tijuana man is suited to Premier League football ever since making his debut against Aston Villa on the opening day.

There are elements of his game that just aren’t suited to division after spending years in Spain, Argentina and Mexico.

As a result, it has been little surprise that Potter has opted to utilise the likes of James Ward-Prowse and Tomas Soucek in the heart of midfield instead.

This does point towards a summer exit for Rodriguez being the best option for all parties moving into the first summer window under the ex-Chelsea boss.
