Guido Rodriguez gets desperate as ‘significant’ sacrifice made to seal West Ham exit
Guido Rodriguez is desperate to secure his West Ham exit.
Rodriguez joined West Ham from Real Betis in August 2024, and it’s safe to say he has been incredibly underwhelming in the heart of midfield.
Nuno Espirito Santo has barely trusted Rodriguez this season, and given the fact that he is on high wages, the Hammers are looking to sell him
The feeling is mutual, and the Argentina international will do anything it takes to ensure he leaves E20 before the transfer deadline on 2 February.

Guido Rodriguez willing to take pay cut to join Valencia
There was initial interest from Spanish side Valencia, although financial differences in the deal with Rodriguez seemed to put the move in jeopardy.
However, despite links to Atlanta United and River Plate, Valencia does seem to be the nailed-on destination.
On Friday, Italian journalist Matteo Moretto reported on X: “Rodriguez is clear: he wants to return to Spain and sign with Valencia.
“The midfielder is willing to make a significant financial sacrifice to start this new challenge. West Ham knows Guido’s desire.”
With the 31-year-old’s contract at the London Stadium set to expire in the summer, the Hammers are keen to move him on as soon as possible.
West Ham could have terminated Rodriguez’s contract in the summer transfer window, but they decided to keep him due to the lack of depth in the squad.
However, they could be set to address this as their interest in Zulte Waregem midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi ramps up.
Why Tochukwu Nnadi would be perfect replacement for Rodriguez
West Ham have reportedly begun talks over personal terms for Nnadi.
The Nigeria international featured once during AFCON, coming on as a substitute in the 3-1 win over Uganda on 30 December.
The 22-year-old has excelled in the Belgian Pro League for Zulte Waregem, and the Hammers are ready to offer him a five-year contract.
| Stat | Nnadi |
| Appearances | 16 |
| Pass accuracy | 85.2% |
| Ground duels won | 60.5% |
| Aerial duels won | 81.0% |
| Tackles | 33 |
Nnadi is also attracting interest from across the Premier League, with Brighton, Newcastle, Crystal Palace, and Leeds all understood to be monitoring his progress in Belgium.
He is a tough-tackling midfielder and has a similar profile to Rodriguez.
However, his added dynamism and energy in the centre of the park would make him a much more capable replacement.
