Guido Rodriguez en-route to West Ham United, contract only until 2026
Guido Rodriguez is now on his way to complete his medical tests ahead of his move to West Ham United, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Italian journalist reported this on X (3 August) and shared that the Argentina international will only sign a contract until June 2026.
Rodriguez’s arrival is one of three that is expected over the next couple of days at the London Stadium with Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville both expected to confirm their transfers to the Hammers [ExWHUEmployee, 3 August].

Across the entirety of the Premier League, West Ham are one of the teams that have had the biggest changes.
The club managed to finish in a respectable ninth place last term but there’s no doubt that new manager Julen Lopetegui will want to improve their standing this season.
It’s been evident since the end of the last campaign that the club needed some reinforcement across the board.
Especially since the likes of Ben Johnson and Flynn Downes have now exited the London Stadium.
One area that the club needed added depth in is that of midfield. Edson Alvarez is the club’s regular number six but with the addition of Rodriguez, pressure will be lifted.
The midfielder has won both the World Cup and Copa America in recent years with Argentina and is a proven winner, the fact that all that’s left to do to seal the transfer is to complete his medical tests [Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, 2 August], shows how serious Lopetegui is about adding the midfielder to his ranks.
Despite his age, there’s no doubt that the club will be better off with his experience in the middle of the park.
