Graham Potter to have final say as Wrexham among five clubs in for West Ham ace

West Ham United’s summer transfer business is clearly set to go right down to the final seconds of the window.

Talk surrounding a possible West Ham deal for Igor Julio has dominated the headlines late on deadline day, with the window set to close at 7pm on 1 September.

West Ham have also been touted to sign Charlie Cresswell, but it may well be that there is also another outgoing at the London Stadium.

And it may well be that manager Graham Potter has the final say in whether this one particular West Ham exit goes through.

Norwich and Wrexham among clubs interested in George Earthy

George Earthy was tipped to enjoy a breakthrough at West Ham this season, but that has not been the case.

Earthy has struggled with injury issues and has yet to feature for the Irons in the Premier League this term.

According to ExWHUEmployee via the West Ham Way Patreon, Earthy could yet be loaned out once again before the window closes.

It is claimed that Bristol City, West Brom, Norwich City, Middlesbrough and Wrexham are all interested in signing Earthy on loan.

The youngster is said to have discussed what the best option is with Potter, who will offer his advice on what Earthy should do next.

West Ham should keep hold of George Earthy

Earthy spent last season on loan with Bristol City, making 37 appearances in the Championship and more than catching the eye.

A return to Ashton Gate would therefore make the most logical sense, but best of all would be keeping the 20-year-old at the London Stadium.

Earthy turns 21 later this week and that is no longer a young age – just look at 15-year-old Max Dowman at Arsenal.

Potter may not see a place for Earthy in his starting lineup right now, but that will all change once injuries and suspensions hit.

It therefore makes most sense to keep the England Under-21 international on board until at least the January window.
