Galatasaray consider Vladimir Coufal move as new West Ham United transfer update emerges

West Ham United defender Vladimir Coufal is being considered by Galatasaray ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Erinc Bilican.

The Turkish journalist reported via an X space on Monday (10 June) that the Czech international is one of the names of interest to the Super Lig club this summer as they look to secure the signature of a new right-back.

However, Galatasaray’s top target is 19-year-old Lyon defender Sael Kumbedi who has impressed during his short time in France over the last couple of seasons.

As quoted by Pesindeyiz Galatasaray on X (10 June) Bilican said: “West Ham player Vladimir Coufal is one of the names considered for the right-back, and the first name is Kumbedi from Lyon.”

Will West Ham United and Julen Lopetegui sell Vladimir Coufal during the summer transfer window?

The summer transfer window may have only just got underway at the London Stadium, but there is already been plenty of speculation linking players with moves both in and out of West Ham following the end of the season.

Coufal has been a slightly divisive figure recently in East London and while the Czech international has never been poor, there has been a feeling that the Hammers could upgrade on him in the future.

If the right offer arrived for the 31-year-old this summer, you would have to imagine that the Hammers would take it. They could reinvest that fee under Julen Lopetegui and likely sign a younger and slightly more dynamic defender.

It will be interesting to see whether or not Galatasaray will transform their interest into a genuine approach this summer. Ultimately, Coufal is not their number one target, but that doesn’t mean a move is completely out of the question.

This could be one to watch after the Euros when the Czech international returns to the London Stadium.
