Ferdinand amazed at latest done deal at West Ham United, ‘cooking’
Former West Ham United defender Anton Ferdinand has highlighted how excited he is by the club completing the signing of Guido Rodriguez.
Rodriguez is the latest man to sign on the dotted line for the Hammers after a big pursuit from Julen Lopetegui, who now has his new midfield man.
In a brief statement on X (6 August), Ferdinand couldn’t help but show his excitement, writing: “We are cooking. Welcome to our club Rodriguez.”
Exciting times for West Ham
There are signs of how things can go wrong for clubs when they go too hard in the transfer market. If you don’t believe us, just go and ask Chelsea. However, when it comes to West Ham, it certainly feels like Lopetegui and company have made smart, decisive decisions thus far.
They needed some reassurance at the back? Hello, Max Kilman. They needed some stability in midfield? Hello, Guido Rodriguez. They needed some more attacking options? Hello Crysencio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Luis Guilherme. This is the kind of instinctive, enthralling decision-making that makes Lopetegui such a fun manager to watch.
Now, of course, it’s all about bringing the team together.
There are almost certainly going to be a few hiccups as they attempt to find cohesion and chemistry in the squad. With that being said, this is now a team full of stars who know what it’s like to play at the elite level.
