Fabrizio Romano shares what he has heard about West Ham United chase for Dominic Solanke and future of Danny Ings
West Ham are interested in signing Bournemouth star Dominic Solanke in January, but the future of Danny Ings is still in the air according to Fabrizio Romano.
Writing in his Daily Briefing (22 November), the reliable journalist reports that the Hammers “appreciate” Solanke however no decision has been made yet on if they will pursue him in January.
And Romano also added that he has heard nothing about the future of Ings, who has been tipped to leave just a year after joining after failing to make an impact under David Moyes.

“Following rumours that Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke could replace Danny Ings at West Ham, I can say that Solanke is appreciated by the London club,” he wrote.
“He’s one of the players they like but no decision has been made yet as it is still early.
“I have no information about the future of Ings yet.”
Interesting
It’s clear that West Ham are certainly in the market for a new striker, and Solanke is just one of the names under consideration.
But Bournemouth are in a relegation battle right now in the Premier League, and that means they won’t want to lose their top goalscorer and best striker in the middle of the season which makes a deal difficult to do.

With that said, other clubs in Europe will also be in a similar situation and that could be why West Ham are yet to make a final decision on the future of Ings.
We have got striker options at the club right now, but losing Ings could leave us in a position where we end up being short for the rest of the season if we suffer any injury problems.
It could be a case of once someone is signed then Ings would be allowed to move on, and that’s sensible from the club although it may be unpopular.
