Fabrizio Romano shares transfer update on West Ham United move for Luis Guilherme

Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Luis Guilherme will fly from Brazil to the United Kingdom on Sunday (9 June) ahead of undergoing a medical at West Ham United.

Transfer expert Romano shared via his personal X account on Sunday (9 June) that Guilherme is due to arrive in the UK on Monday (10 June) as initially planned.

The 18-year-old, who has spent his short career to date with Palmeiras, is expected to pen a five-year deal at London Stadium if all goes well in terms of his medical checks.

West Ham United close in on first summer transfer

After plenty of setbacks over the past couple of weeks, United look set to complete their first piece of transfer business.

In truth, not a great amount is known about Guilherme, but the early indications are that he is a very talented player with the world at his feet.

The midfielder will not come cheap, relatively speaking, but this is an exciting move from the Hammers’ perspective.

The hope is that Tim Steidten can get a few similar deals over the line, while a big-name arrival would also be very much welcome.

There has been plenty of focus on incoming activity at London Stadium so far this month, but players will also no doubt depart.

Let’s just hope that the squad assembled come 1 September is stronger than the one that ended the 2023-24 campaign.
