Fabrizio Romano shares James Ward-Prowse update in West Ham United transfer news
West Ham look to complete a deal for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse in the coming days, as the midfielder is now in London, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Romano shared via Twitter on 10 August that Ward-Prowse has arrived in the capital ahead of a move to the Hammers, with a medical scheduled to take place on Friday [11 August] after an agreement was reached on Wednesday [9 August].
It was also shared that West Ham’s negotiations over personal terms with Manchester United defender Harry Maguire are continuing ahead of his move to East London.
A busy few days
As the saying goes, transfers at West Ham are like London buses: you wait forever for one, and several come at once. Following Declan Rice’s sale to Arsenal in early July, the Hammers sat on their £105million for almost a month, before seemingly spending it all at once.
West Ham directors have clearly become restless with the lack of incoming deals, and are now seeing the floodgates open less than a week before the Premier League season begins.
Edson Alvarez arrived from Ajax on the morning of 10 August, as announced by the club website, and since then, Ward-Prowse has arrived in London, and a deal for Maguire is gradually edging closer, while negotiations continue over a deal for Scott McTominay.

David Moyes will no doubt be pleased with the incoming signings, all of whom fit perfectly into his style of play and will improve his squad vastly. Ward-Prowse’s set-piece ability will see the club benefit, while Maguire’s aerial dominance falls in line with a very physical first-team squad.
In other West Ham news, one player has been given a £6million windfall to join the Hammers.
