
Fabrizio Romano drops new Jean-Clair Todibo update amid West Ham United bid – ‘It’s true’
Fabrizio Romano has delivered an update on the interest in Jean-Clair Todibo from Europe, amid news of a bid from West Ham United.
In his daily briefing from 12 July, Romano explains that the Irons had a bid of around £30m rejected for Todibo, and that interest is building in the Nice defender.
Nice manager Franck Haise admitted earlier this week he was unsure if Todibo would be at the club by the start of this season, with Juventus approaching with a loan-to-buy offer for the Frenchman.
This does not intrigue Todibo’s employers, who want closer to £38m for their man.
Todibo among West Ham United targets
Though West Ham have certainly put themselves about this summer in terms of chasing transfer targets, it has been a case of trial and error at this stage.
The £40m signing of Max Kilman has definitely been a coup to lift spirits in the Hammers’ hierarchy, following a number of rejected bids and personal terms breakdowns surrounding other pursuits.
Kilman became the third new arrival of the Julen Lopetegui era at the London Stadium, and with a significant squad overhaul underway, several more incomings are anticipated.

Todibo, 24, would be another player to considerably strengthen Lopetegui’s defensive options alongside Kilman with Angelo Ogbonna and Thilo Kehrer having departed – and Kurt Zouma and Nayef Aguerd heavily linked away.
The two-cap French international, who briefly represented Barcelona, is under contract until 2027 with Europa League qualifiers Nice.
