ExWHUemployee: West Ham United set to make improved offer for Piotr Zielinski

West Ham are set to make an improved bid for Napoli playmaker Piotr Zielinski, with the club excited to get a deal over the line according to ExWHUemployee.

The Hammers are interested in a new attacking midfielder after missing out on the free transfer signing of Jesse Lingard, who opted for a move to Nottingham Forest over a return to the London Stadium.

Rob Newman and Lukasz Fabianski have both recommended the 28-year-old to David Moyes [ExWHUemployee, July 25] and after initially making a bid of around £25m [Alfredo Pedulla] they are now set to go back with more money.

Writing on his Patreon account, Ex says the club are hopeful of getting a deal done.

“The club look set to make an increased offer for the Napoli midfielder Zielinski, a deal we exclusively broke on our podcast before anyone else.

“The club are very excited about this player and hope to get it over the line.”

Wow

Zielinski would be a huge signing for West Ham and a massive statement of intent after what was an embarrassing saga involving Lingard.

The Polish playmaker has been praised by Jurgen Klopp and Bruno Fernandes in the past, and has found a new lease of life after being used in the number 10 position in Naples over the last few years.

His passing ability is excellent and he could potentially form a formidable partnership with new striker Gianluca Scamacca as well as willing runners Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen.

Napoli are a side that are regulars in the Champions League so it may be difficult for the Hammers to convince him to step down for them, but a deal is clearly on the table to be worked out.

Fans are likely to be absolutely buzzing if they can get this one over the line, and while it won’t be easy the club are certainly doing their best to do just that.
