ExWHUemployee shares what ‘top source’ now tells him about Declan Rice move from West Ham United to Arsenal

Talks continued between West Ham and Arsenal on Tuesday over the transfer of Declan Rice, according to ExWHUemployee.

The ever-reliable Hammers insider reported on Patreon on 4 July that he’s been told be a “top source” that there’s hope the deal will be concluded in the next 48 hours.

It is understood that Rice, 24, hasn’t had a medical nor done any promotional work with the Gunners because this will only happen once an agreement is reached between the two London clubs.

ExWHUemployee added that once the deal reaches its conclusion, West Ham will start to make “firm offers” for their transfer targets.

All but done?

It wouldn’t be a shock to see this deal completed by the end of the week.

Once West Ham and Arsenal agree on the structure of the £100million-plus deal then there’s no doubt things will move very quickly.

Rice has been sent on a move to the Emirates for some time now and as long as he doesn’t fail his medical or David Sullivan doesn’t decide to move the goalposts at the last minute, he should be an Arsenal player.

We need it to happen sooner rather than later because we’re into July now, the league season finished over a month ago and no new players have been signed for David Moyes’ first team.

We all knew that we’d be waiting for Rice’s move to go through before any signings can be made but we didn’t think that Arsenal would drag their feels this much over a deal.

Everyone wants it to be all over and done with now.

Thankfully, it seems we’re just days away from that being the case.

In other West Ham news, an update on Rice’s medical has emerged amid a UEFA watchlist issue at the London Stadium.
