ExWHUemployee shares West Ham United transfer update on Jesse Lingard
Jesse Lingard is now looking “more likely” to join West Ham on a short-term deal in the coming days after impressing coaches in East London, according to ExWHUemployee.
The reliable source shared on 22 August that Lingard has impressed coaches with his fitness levels while training at their Rush Green training ground, and could earn a contract which would be on a lower, incentive-based wage.
It is suggested that any deal would be a 6-12 month offer, and the chance of a deal has progressed from a “tiny chance” to a “chance” and seems to be growing more and more likely.

ExWHUemployee shared: “Lingard is looking very good fitness-wise. At this stage, any offer would be short-term, around 6-12 months with a lower wage but incentive-based.
“At the start, it was described to me as a ‘tiny chance’ – now there is a ‘chance’, it seems it’s getting more likely.”
A good deal for both parties
If Lingard agrees to a short-term deal, on a lower wage, it makes plenty of sense for both parties. He is clearly working hard to impress during his time at Rush Green, and if the coaches believe he can make an impact on the first team, who can say no?

The former England international enjoyed some of the best football of his career at the London Stadium, when he joined on loan for the latter half of the 2021/22 season, scoring nine goals and assisting five in just 16 games.
His form since then has failed to live up to those heights, most recently failing to register a single goal or assist in 17 Premier League appearances at Nottingham Forest.
Having turned down a move back to the Hammers in favour of signing a lucrative deal with Nottingham Forest, and claiming he didn’t feel valued by the club in an interview on the Diary of a CEO Podcast, a sour taste was left in the mouths of West Ham fans, but if he starts performing again, that will all be forgotten.
In other West Ham news, a new transfer deal is set to be completed soon.
