ExWHUemployee denies West Ham have received any bids for Declan Rice
There have been no bids made for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice so far this summer, according to ExWHUemployee.
The Irons insider, writing on his personal Twitter profile following a (since deleted) tweet mooting a possible exit for Rice, has moved to reassured any worried West Ham fans.
He said: “It’s not true mate! Ask the fella who Declan’s ‘management team’ consists of. No denying that Chelsea are keen but no bids have been submitted as yet.”
Relief
We’ve not seen any recent reports ourselves that have suggested Chelsea or any other side have launched official bids for Rice, but it’s good to get some peace of mind from a reliable West Ham source such as ExWHUemployee.
That doesn’t mean those bids won’t eventually come, as Ex himself reports that Chelsea are indeed keen on the 22-year-old Irons talisman, but there’s nothing to be imminently worried about.
With Rice due to start for England as they begin their European Championships campaign next week his club future will surely take a backseat as he concentrates on gunning for glory with his national side.
That should hopefully mean a few weeks where we don’t have to read mindless gossip linking him with moves away, but we’re sure that will all return once the Euro’s are concluded.
Regardless, Rice looks set to stay at the Irons and lead us into the Europa League, something he and his teammates worked so hard to achieve last season.
He’s not about to throw that away this summer and force a move to our London rivals.
Our midfield maestro still has so much more to achieve at the London Stadium, and we can’t wait to welcome him back at the start of the 2021/22 campaign with supporters hopefully allowed back in grounds at full capacity.
