ExWHUemployee: Amadou Diallo to officially leave West Ham on Thursday, he's headed to Chelsea

Amadou Diallo is set to leave West Ham when his contract expires this week and is currently training with Chelsea, according to ExWHUemployee.

Writing via his Patreon account on Wednesday (29 June), the reliable Hammers insider reported that Diallo, 19, is leaving the London Stadium when his contract ends on 30 June and it currently looks as though the “highly-rated” forward is heading across London to Chelsea.

Diallo signed a professional contract with the Irons after he celebrated his 17th birthday in February 2020. But he’s now leaving the East London outfit without ever making a senior appearance for them.

Good luck, Amadou

Diallo didn’t seem like he was ever going to break through at West Ham.

He’s played every now and then for the Under-18s and the Under-23s for the last few seasons.

However, the 2021/22 campaign ended with the former England Under-17s forward, who can play on both wings, playing just eight times for the Under-23s in Premier League 2

And of those eight appearances, he played for just 208 minutes, starting just two matches and completing 90 minutes on just one occasion.

Diallo also played once in the EFL Trophy but was substituted off at half-time as the young Irons lost 1-0 away against Colchester United.

Chelsea might see something in the youngster or they’re just using him as someone who can bolster up their squad a bit because they usually send half of their Under-23s squad out on loan every summer.

Diallo started off brightly at West Ham but that light has started to fade due to a lack of game-time in 2021/22.

We hope he can turn things around at Chelsea or wherever he hads next.

We wish you all the best, Amadou.
