Exact payment terms shared as West Ham United confirm £105m Declan Rice to Arsenal transfer – Sky Sports

The terms of Arsenal’s £105m signing of West Ham captain Declan Rice have been shared by Sky Sports News after the club confirmed the deal on Saturday (15 July).

Writing on his personal Twitter account, reporter Kaveh Solhekol has shared the exact payment terms that have been agreed between the clubs for the British record transfer.

The Hammers confirmed the player had left the club on Saturday morning via an official statement, but now further details have been shared on how the full £105m fee can be achieved.

“This is what West Ham are getting from Arsenal for Declan Rice,” he wrote.

“£100m paid over 24 months, plus possibly £5m of add ons, which are £1m every time Arsenal qualify for the Champions League and Declan starts 60% of games, capped at 5 X £1m = £5m.”

Excellent

This is a perfect deal for West Ham to have secured, with the vast majority of the fee secured over a short period of time and guaranteed.

The add-ons are certainly a nice little booster too, but for Arsenal they will be hoping it’s as good as guaranteed too.

Rice is almost always fit and playing 60% of games should be relatively easy for him, as you’d expect him to be a regular starter considering the investment the club have made to bring him in.

West Ham

As for West Ham, we can now start to look ahead to the new season and replacing him with the money secured and signed – meaning we know our budgets and what we can afford to spend without fear of it not coming through for whatever reason.

Rice is a legend and will be remembered as one, but this club is bigger than any player and we will now push on to improve even without him.
