El Hadji Malick Diouf opens door to West Ham exit already, David Sullivan won’t mind one bit

El Hadji Malick Diouf has said that he sees himself playing for a top-five club in the world.

West Ham triumphed in a 3-2 win over Burnley in the Premier League before the club season was interrupted for the November international break.

This followed West Ham’s 3-1 victory over Newcastle United in what has been back-to-back wins for Nuno Espirito Santo.

But while things are looking up for the Hammers, Diouf is already thinking about life beyond the London Stadium.

El Hadji Malick Diouf wants top five club

West Ham signed Diouf for £19million from Slavia Prague over the summer transfer window.

The defender has since become one of West Ham’s most-used players in the Premier League this season.

Seen as one of the division’s youngest and brightest, there will be hope among West Ham fans that the 20-year-old can serve them for years to come.

However, Diouf seems to already be thinking about his next chapter, just four months after arriving at the London Stadium.

“Ideally, I see myself at a top club, among the five best in the world,” he told wiw SPORT on 11 November.

“I think I have the potential to get there through hard work. And I hope, God willing, to achieve that. I have only been in the professional world for two years, so I remain patient.”

As a result, the Hammers may need to enjoy the full-back while they have him, as numerous clubs will surely be keeping a close eye on him.

How much profit will El Hadji Malick Diouf make West Ham?

David Sullivan likely won’t mind in the slightest if Diouf leaves West Ham, given that he could make a sizable profit if he does sign for a major club.

Numerous sites estimate that his current market value lies between £22m and £27m. That would see Sullivan pocket up to £8m if he sells for his highest-possible value.

But as most already know, players often leave for double or even triple their market value, especially when signing for one of the richer teams.

Furthermore, West Ham’s Diouf is currently seen as a superstar in the making, which means that his market value should increase throughout his stay at the London Stadium.

As a result, the versatile full-back could turn out to be one of the best investments Sullivan’s made in years. Let’s just hope is sale is not as early as 2026.
