Douglas Luiz compromise to avoid ‘bloodbath’ as West Ham want new transfer
West Ham are pushing to win the race to sign Douglas Luiz.
Graham Potter‘s side are in desperate need of midfield reinforcements after a dismal campaign in which they finished 14th in the Premier League.
Luiz wants to return to England after making just 19 appearances in Serie A last season, of which just three were starts.
The Hammers are well placed for the former Aston Villa star’s signature, but whether he would prefer a move to the London Stadium over other suitors remains to be seen.

West Ham want Luiz as Juventus compromise emerges
West Ham face competition from the likes of Everton and Nottingham Forest for the 27-year-old’s services.
A report from La Gazzetta dello Sport (page 8, 28 July) claims that the Old Lady are willing to compromise on their stance, with the Irons interested in the midfielder.
It states that they want a loan with a buy option to avoid a “bloodbath” after he cost them £610,000 per appearance last campaign.
The Brazilian is also set for a fine after missing training in recent weeks.

Luiz would be a brilliant signing for West Ham
The Hammers are lacking in the engine room, and Luiz would bring a tenacity that would make him a fan favourite in East London.
The likes of Edson Alvarez and Guido Rodriguez could be heading for an exit after failing to nail down the number six role under Potter.
The ex-Brighton man needs top-class additions, especially in midfield, and the former Villa man would be just that.
David Sullivan needs to back Potter to avoid a repeat of last season, and Luiz would be a perfect sign that he is willing to do so.
Whether the E20 outfit can beat their rivals to his signing remains to be seen, but they should throw everything that they have to try and do so.
It would be a masterstroke if Luiz is playing in Claret and Blue next season, it would not solve all of their issues, but it would be a start.
More business needs to be done, but it would give supporters a real hope that things will get better if the Brazilian is added to the squad.
