Dharmesh Sheth: West Ham United medical now underway for Kalvin Phillips as fresh update emerges

Kalvin Phillips is undergoing his medical at West Ham ahead of his proposed move from Manchester City, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports journalist tweeted the latest update on Thursday (25 January) as the England international looks set to be closing in on a loan switch from the Premier League champions.

The Hammers are hoping to have the deal completed by the weekend ahead of the 28-year-old midfielder potentially making his debut against Bournemouth on 1 February at the London Stadium.

Positive

It’s all looking extremely positive for West Ham as Phillips is set to undergo his medical at Rush Green on Thursday ahead of his move.

There shouldn’t be any issues that crop up as the player will regularly be subject to fitness tests at Man City and he hasn’t had any major injuries lately.

The Hammers will want to speed up the process over the next couple of days to get Phillips fully embedded with the rest of the squad by the time the Bournemouth game comes around.

Although David Moyes will be tempted to start him against the Cherries, it’s likely he’ll be named on the bench due to his lack of game time over the past few months.

But the midfielder will be sure to receive an excellent reception from the Irons faithful as he should prove to be an excellent signing for the club.
