Dharmesh Sheth shares West Ham United update on pursuit of £30m Luis Guilherme

West Ham face competition to sign Luis Guilherme, according to Dharmesh Sheth.

The Sky Sports News reporter revealed on Friday (12:16 pm, 31 May) that the Hammers are one of several Premier League sides interested in the Brazillian.

As revealed by Fabrizio Romano on 30 May, West Ham have approached Palmeiras to sign the midfielder in a deal worth £30million.

The 18-year-old has represented Brazil at Under-20 level.

Julen Lopetegui will hope West Ham win the race for Luis Guilherme

If other Premier League clubs are interested, the Hammers might want to act fast.

It appears the club’s recruitment team has been spending a lot of time in Brazil as of late.

However, their time in the country has so far been unsuccessful.

A move for Fabricio Bruno broke down when it looked set to be signed, and Julen Lopetegui will hope the same thing doesn’t happen with Guilherme.

While the two clubs are in talks, there is every chance a deal could collapse just as it did with Bruno.

And with several other English top-flight times interested, Lopetegui will be feeling nervous.

Missing out on one or two targets isn’t the end of the world.

But if high-profile pursuits continue to fail, things could get bad.

The club are starting a new era under a new boss.

As a result, they will be keen to bring in reinforcements as soon as possible.

And for Lopetegui, his first transfer window with the club must go well.
