Dharmesh Sheth shares West Ham and Jesse Lingard transfer update
Dharmesh Sheth believes there is “every chance” West Ham will go in to sign forward Jesse Lingard from Manchester United before the transfer deadline on August 31.
The Sky Sports News journalist reports that Lingard, 28, has ended his period in self-isolating after testing positive for COVID-19 and the Irons are still keen on re-signing their former loan star.
It is understood that the Hammers could leave Man United and the England international with a major decision to make before the transfer window slams shut in less than a fortnight’s time.

“All options are on the table for Jesse Lingard,” said Sheth, as quoted on Sky Sports’ Transfer Centre on Tuesday [6:45pm].
“He’s out of isolation now. He was in quarantine for the last week and a bit. He actually came back and scored for Manchester United today in a behind closed doors friendly against Burnley – a 3-1 victory at Old Trafford.
“Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been quoted as saying that Lingard is in his plans for this season. However, West Ham do remain interested in re-signing Lingard.
“Remember what he did at the back end of last season. He joined on loan for the second half of last season and broke into the England squad before the end of the season. He almost got into the final Euro 2020 squad as well.
“I just think there’s every chance West Ham will go back in for him before the window is out and then there will be a decision to make, not only for Man Utd but for Jesse Lingard as well.”

Get it done
We don’t usually get impatient but the Premier League season has now started and there are 13 days until the transfer window closes on August 31.
If we leave it until it’s too late, Man United may decide to keep Lingard and try to get him tied down to a new deal.
However, there’s also a good chance that if it’s left late, the Red Devils could drop their asking price for the attacking midfielder because his contract is up next year and they won’t want to lose a valuable player on a free transfer.
Of course, that is down to whether Solskjaer wants to keep hold of the ex-Irons loan star or not.
But when you look at the array of attacking talent he has at his disposal at Old Trafford, it’s hard to see how Lingard fits into his plans.
Lingard maybe isn’t good enough for a team that wants to win the title this season but he’s definitely good enough for a team like us that wants to just qualify for European football.
Let’s hope this deal is wrapped up before September comes around.
